Erol Alkan
A man requiring such little introduction would probably prefer it if we mentioned what he’s up to right now, rather than dwelling on the indelible imprint that his Trash night made on the world. So listen out for the nuances of his production duties on forthcoming Mystery Jets, Late Of The Pier and Long Blondes albums as well as the psychedelic wonder of his Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve collaboration with Richard Norris. And he’s knocking back Basset’s aniseed sweets lik there’s no tomorrow! Tonight, Erol is playing late and loud. Essential!

Neon Neon
The debut UK performance from an astounding new project between Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals and Boom Bip. 2008 is the year disco returns and this lot will be at the front. Perfect pop music, the way it’s meant to be, with a fair few surprises thrown in for good measure. Big!

Chrome Hoof
Chrome Hoof are like nothing you’ve ever witnessed. Sometimes hosting over ten members at once, all from different musical backgrounds, the noise they create is not of this world. Prog, doom, disco, krautrock brilliance dressed up in freakish, neo-monk outfits. Mindblowing.

The Filthy Dukes
After years of tearing up floors around the world as well as back home at their Kill Em All nights, the Dukes dropped ‘This Rhythm’, an electro anthem of their own, at the end of last year. It’s left everyone shaking with excitement at the prospect of their debut anthem, coming this year with hordes of extra special guests.

The Presets
The Presets have led the wave of Australian electro to world domination over the past few years. Two men with the ability to make the most restrained trendy kids lose their minds on the dancefloor like never before. They make a rare London appearance for us.

Ipso Facto
Veritable stars of the new London new-wave scene, Ipso Facto are impossibly young for such a startling band. Sounding like a long lost record discovered by Quentin Tarantino and used in the scene where the heroine is on her way to make her overdue revenge, all shot in psychedelic colours.

Miss Odd Kidd & Dekker
Odd Kidd is like the bastard daughter of Peaches and Timbaland; Missy and Eminem. Just take one ball crushing, foul mouthed chick and pair her up with a beat- producing, E-taking genius and you’ll produce something similar. Odd Kidd’s already so far ahead of the game, however, that they’ll have no chance of catching up.

Thecocknbullkid
About to explode in 2008, she is the modern day interpretation of Morrissey living in Hackney, or Neneh Cherry attending poetry night classes. Anita Blay makes music that is witty and heartbreaking yet always danceable, with the sweetest voice we’ve heard for a long time. Check out the Metronomy produced ‘Shake.’

Gramme
It was an absolute travesty that this band disappeared so quickly last time they were around, but they're back and there is no chance of them going unnoticed. The spirit of amazing bands such as PiL, The Slits, ESG and Liquid Liquid runs through them, creating a superb post-punky sound. 'Like You' is the definition of an undiscovered classic, dug up last year by Hot Chip on their DJ Kicks mix.

Heartbreak
We told you disco was coming back! Italo infused disco pop music with the spirit of Freddie Mercury up front. Ask anyone who has already seen them, this lot are not to be missed live. Tipped for success but my grandmother and her dog, see you down the front.

George Pringle
George Pringle has done the extremely admirable thing of gaining respect and popularity by being herself and not straying from her style at all. Pretty beats with an almost spoken word monologue of modern life tales over the top. The idea of the Diseuse in a contemporary setting. Something very special.

Turbowolf
Described by one person as the soundtrack to a jailbreak, we'd have to agree with that. They say: "Digitronized hell n roll from the mouths of a thousand horses." A description like that can only mean that they're going to melt your face off when you see them live, we reckon.

Ladyhawke
A mix of modern day electro and classic rock in the most perfect of ways, all eyes are on this New Zealand girl right now. Stevie Nicks on a vodka drenched weekend in Paris, Iggy Pop dancing at Trailer Trash... you get the idea. Amazing songs that will make this girl a true star of today, trust us.

FrYars
Another true star in the making with one of the most unique voices we've heard in a long while. This boy has the talent, the songs and the cheekbones to make every girl swoon and every boy rush home to learn how to use Garageband before anyone else does. Check out The Ides EP from the end of last year.

Crispin Dior
Crispin Dior is a one man legend with a record collection that would make Norris McWhirter weep. A man for whom Harvey is a shaman-like DJ God, and not a shamed So Solid Crew love rat , Crispin’s sets are an education and a delight for head, body and feet. He’s also the only man to play Room 3 in nothing but his Y-fronts, but the less said about that, the better!

Allez Allez
The Allez Allez website has become one of the most influential music blogs around, hosting exclusive mixes from anyone who’s anyone. Think of it as our answer to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space, and then some. Their Kompakt parties and monthly at the Amersham Arms are some of the most talked about nights in London.

Playdead
Dan Spinney is a man responsible for ruining the education of art students in Bournemouth with his weekly clubnight institution, Big In Japan. The night has now found its second home at the Amersham Arms, ready to start its wave of beautiful (and we mean beautiful) destruction all over again.

Youth Movies
A soundtrack strategy into how post-rock music should work from now on, Youth Movies take listeners on a journey with their art-metal racket. Hidden beneath it all are wonderful pop melodies and pounding rhythms. Something a bit special indeed and Drowned In Sound favourites.
